 An alternative recipe for cream cheese frosting? No dairy?!? I have an allergy to dairy and am making this carrot and pineapple cake with a cream cheese frosting. The recipe for the frosting is: 60g butter I have an alternative to the butter. It's a dairy free version made from coconut oil and carrot juice and stuff and it works really well as a substitute. Does anyone have any ideas for a dairy free substitute for the cream cheese? I can eat coconut cream/milk but not regular cream? Thanks! Silken tofu might work ok in your recipe. Tofutti makes a vegan cream "cheese" product, but it is not the greatest in cooked recipes (in fact, it is not the greatest spread on bagels either, lol). |
